Following TBA21-Academy’s recent expedition to French Polynesia in Summer 2016, this workshop assembles a temporary anti-nuclear working group for the Pacific region. With India’s membership in the “nuclear club” in perspective the workshop seeks to invent, test and contest the concepts, methods, protocols and institutional networks required for a future tribunal to emerge that aims to hold the French state materially responsible for the devastating nuclear weapons tests which it conducted on and around the atoll of Moruroa and Fangataufa in the Tuamotu archipelago in French Polynesia between 1966 and 1996.
